This is one of my favorites as I have never had to buy one of those repair kits.
The kits require drilling of extra holes in a way that will weaken the arm, so
why not just drill one hole? Works for me!

The hole cut-out for the plunger and link must be large.
Don't let your hands get in the way of moving parts!! Ouch!!!
The following was an Idea of one of the mechanics I work with. It has reduced track breakage to almost ZERO. These mounts were obtained from Grainger and work great. They are the same as the shaker mounts, only much larger.
